The Dragoncello Masterplan represents an ambitious vision of urban regeneration that transforms the area between Acilia and the Tiber into a model of sustainability and well-being. Through a clever organization of autonomous sectors, the project aims to redevelop the area by integrating landscape conservation and architectural innovation. The core of the project is the creation of a vast Archaeological and Natural Park, conceived as an ecological corridor that protects the typical features of the Roman countryside and the precious remains of the ancient city of Ficana. The proposal calls for the conservative restoration of historic rural villages, intended to provide high-quality tourist accommodation immersed in greenery, with dedicated suites and medicinal gardens. At the Park Gate, a sustainable eco-village will be created, featuring state-of-the-art sports facilities, outdoor living areas, and a natural amphitheater for cultural events. A dense network of cycle and pedestrian paths will connect the town to the river, where a new cable-stayed wood and steel bridge will provide a safe connection to the city’s cycle paths, promoting slow, safe, and zero-impact mobility for the entire area.
